ASSH Book Award
The ASSH Book Award recognises outstanding scholarship in sports history. Eligible books for the Award include all sports history monographs written by ASSH members and all sports history monographs (including by non-members) that have an Australian and/or New Zealand focus.
The winner of the ASSH Book Award receives a prize of A$500.
ASSH Book Award Recipients 2006-
ASSH Anthology Award
The ASSH Anthology Award (for edited collections) recognises outstanding scholarship in sports history. To be eligible for the award, the collection must be edited by an ASSH member/s (contributors may include non-members), have an Australian and/or New Zealand focus, and comprise predominantly original pieces of work that have not been published elsewhere.
The winner of the ASSH Anthology Award receives a prize of A$500.
ASSH Book Award Recipients 2006-
ASSH Student Article Award
The ASSH Student Article Award is open to students enrolled in full- or part-time postgraduate (e.g. Grad Dip, Masters or PhD) or Honours programs in an Australian or New Zealand tertiary institution at the time the article was published.
Articles submitted for the ASSH Student Article Award should deal with the historical, economic, political, social, legal or philosophical significance of sporting activity with preference given to those with an Australian/New Zealand focus.
Articles must be written by the student and published as either a sole-authored article or with the student as the first-named author.
The winner of the ASSH Student Article Award is invited to present their work at the ASSH conference; they will receive free registration for the conference (including the dinner), and a two-year digital subscription to Sporting Traditions.
Postgraduate students or their supervisors may nominate for the ASSH Student Article Award.

ASSH Fellow Award
The ASSH Fellowship is presented to members and non-members who have made an outstanding contribution to the field of sports history, either in Australia or internationally. It is presented in recognition of the leading role that the recipient has played in developing and furthering the research interests of sports history.

ASSH Service Award
The ASSH Service Award is presented to ASSH members who have made a sustained and outstanding contribution to ASSH. Any ASSH member who has served the Society in a formal or informal capacity is eligible to receive the ASSH Service Award. Any ASSH member may nominate candidate(s) for an ASSH Service Award.
ASSH Service Award recipients receive an Honorary Life Membership of ASSH, which will be formally presented at the ASSH Conference Banquet.
