Expressions of interest – Associate Editor(s), Sporting Traditions

Expressions of interest are sought for one or more Associate Editor (AE) positions for Sporting Traditions (ST). AEs will assist the Editors with input to decisions regarding the review of submissions, correspondence with authors and referees, assembling, editing, and design of issues. As with other journals, the AE role provides an ‘apprenticeship’ for people who may be interested in taking over as editor of ST when the current editors’ terms end. However, appointment as an AE does not carry an obligation to become an editor if the appointee does not wish to do so.

An EOI should contain a short statement (no more than one page) of the applicant’s experience and reasons for expressing interest.

An EOI should be emailed to the editors no later than 6 March 2026.

Notes:

  1. The normal term for an AE will be three years, with renewal permissible
  2. Applicants for an AE role do not need to be current members of the Editorial Board
  3. An AE must be a current financial (or life) member of ASSH
